The lights are out in my home
and outdoors
as the world quiets down.
I am up late sketching,
visions blooming in my head.
I need to send out these ideas
into the expanse beyond my house
as inspiration to the unsuspecting
as hoped delight to the recipient
as a life buoy to the wind
Where will the ideas land?
The anticipation is like that of a 3rd grader
sending up a balloon with a postcard attached
and awaiting the moment when it is returned
to plot the course it traveled upon.
